bErto is an American artist whose work explores abstraction, nature, and spirituality through vibrant mixed media compositions. Growing up in Miami, he was inspired by the city’s bold colours and dynamic energy, as well as his early exposure to creative pursuits. Encouraged by his father’s love of drawing, bErto developed a deep connection to art, which became a defining force in his life.

A lifelong surfer, bErto draws parallels between the flow of the ocean and the meditative quality of his creative process. This connection to nature is a recurring theme in his work, which blends acrylics, oils, repurposed paper, and collage to create immersive, textured pieces. His process is intuitive and experimental, reflecting his belief in the importance of dialogue between the internal and external worlds.

bErto’s career has taken him across the globe, with time spent living in culturally rich cities like Athens, London, Paris, and Milan. His murals, spanning locations from Australia to Senegal, engage deeply with their environments, although he now focuses primarily on studio work. Currently based in California, bErto is preparing to open a new studio in Lisbon, Portugal, marking an exciting new chapter in his creative journey.

His recent exhibitions include Observational Abstractions and Salon Style at TEW Galleries in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as Reflections Art Show in Los Angeles and Commercial Bay in Auckland, New Zealand. bErto’s work will next appear in Maddox Gallery’s group exhibition, opening on 16th January 2025 in London.
